Overall, I would recommend this game on a sale. Music was also well done and can adjust as the player progresses through the levels. The noises, weapon impact, spell impact, and interaction with the environment were all suitable to the game's environment. The sounds and music were well done for this game. The user interface, especially navigating inventory menus, makes life easy. Obvious effort is demonstrated right from when the player boots up to the game the cut-scenes are riveting with story and awe. The map shows where the player has been previously (bread-crumb trail without inhibiting map viewing), fantastic feature to include. I really liked other features such as the user interface and the map. The level design itself can also feel different from place to place. I feel like there is enough on the screen to keep the player on their toes, in addition to special effects that are occurring in the background. The visuals and graphics are actually pretty good. I liked the variety of attack styles presented in the game. Stand still for a bit and goodbye Victor! Victor does have a varying set of abilities to help keep him alive, and even deadlier abilities to decimate enemies. I appreciated this as I don't have to button mash to dodge constantly, but enough damage is dealt that the game is expecting the player to do something in order to avoid getting thrashed. Unlike other RPG games where dodging seems to be the only way to stay alive, it feels like the player can take a little beating in this game, even on the regular difficulty. These features provide an exit strategy in difficult scenarios and allow the player to move around the map quicker than usual. Basic movement controls are included in the game such as jumping and dodging, and they're not as annoying as one would think. The controls feel a lot more fluid compared to Gauntlet and a few other similar games. The game is presented in an isometric view with a great atmosphere to further entice the player. The gameplay is quite fluid the whole way through. Not a great game, but a good game which is enjoyed even more with friends. My friend complimented that it resembled Diablo (if that's helpful for any gamers). However, I feel this game offers a little more challenge, more visuals, more variation, more items, more options regarding game play, and more of a story compared to the latter. In short, the game provides a very similar vibe to Gauntlet. I used one of my lightning guns, and was able to kill them all with no issues. This has been in my library for a very long time and finally got around to trying it. I just know the last thing you want to do is face 27 Essence of Rock at the same time.Įdit - Replaying this area with a stronger weapon made this fight way more easy. This is easier said then done, especially since attacks can hit multiple enemies at the same time, and there really is not much room to run around. Repeating these until all enemies are finally wiped out. After that Lightning was killed, then the Rocks (and splits), tried for another Fire. Again, killed the 3 Rock (and splits), then tried for the other Lightning. There would now be 2 Fire, 1 Lighting, and 3 Rock. Killed the 3 Rock (and their splits), then went for another Lightning. Kill 1 Lighting, and end up with 2 Fire, 2 Lightning, and 3 Rock. kill 1 of those Fire, and have 2 Fire and 3 Lightning. kill the Chromatic Essence, which turns into 3 fire. I'll try to break it down a little better: After that, I worked on one Essence of Lighting to get the 3 Essence of Rock, and killed those. Then, I tried to focus on one of those, turning it into 3 Essence of Lightning. What I did here was kill the Chromatic Essence, which spawned the 3 Essence of Fire. Killing each one of those will spawn 3 Essence of Lighting, and defeating each of those will spawn 3 Essence of Rock, which finally split into the 3 smaller ones. Basically, the Chromatic Essence is just like any other Essence enemies the big difference here is that once you kill it, 3 more will spawn.įor example, it starts with the Chromatic Essence, then turns into 3 Essence of Fire. *** Spoiler - click to reveal *** The Devil's Throat.
